Xbox Update Speeds Up Boot Times

5 more seconds of gaming now added

Those who are part of the Xbox Insider program, built to test new Xbox firmware before public release, have been getting new features recently. Shortly after the announcement of Xbox's Discord integration, testers have been experiencing shorter boot times on consoles.

Thanks to new optimizations from Microsoft, Xbox users can save around 5 seconds. And with Quick Resume available on the Series Consoles, those 5 seconds could be spent on opening a pinned game. Theoretically, you could turn on an Xbox, sign in, open and play a game by the time the older version just turned on.

The update is not exclusive to the Series consoles, either. Xbox One users can also enjoy vastly improved boot times in the future, as noted by Jake Rosenberg, Senior Product Manager Lead at Xbox

While the improved start up hasn't been released to the public yet, it is important to mention that this improvement only applies when the Energy Saver mode is turned on, an option where the console completely turns off every time to save energy usage and the default setting for consoles since this year.
